Norman Schaefer. Born and raised in Olympia, Washington. College at the University of California, Davis campus—degree in Art History. Lived in Davis for 35 years, making a living as a laborer. Spare time in summer and fall spent climbing and wandering in the Sierra Nevada. Moved to Port Townsend, Washington, north Puget Sound, in 2004.
